When heavy metal combines with cute, my heart soars through the rafters! Especially when it comes two legendary names: Hello Kitty and Yoshiki.

Yoshiki has been a recent discovery within my radar and I am obsessed. Yoshiki was the leader of the legendary Japanese rock band: X. They were big, BIG in Japan in the 80’s know for their hardcore drumming and metal riffs. Then the group fractured due to member becoming brainwashed by a cult and then suicide. Known of this was known until Yoshiki helped create the documentary, “We Are X” in 2016.

Since then Yoshiki has turned his pianist skills to classical music and theme songs. He has also collaborated with Sarah Brightman on songs and tours. His music is ethereally powerful and needs to be experienced.

In addition to all of the great work, Yoshiki has collaborated with Hello Kitty to create Yoshikitty. Yoshikitty is similar look to Hello Kitty but with a rocker edge. She has purple eyeshadow, yellow hair and a leather jacket. Yoshikitty was introduced in 2009 and has been nominated for the past 8 years during the Sanrio ranking contest and is back at it again this year.

Has also been ranked first place in Brazil and second place in China in past years.
Has become associated with leading name brands and over 500 diverse products ranging from high fashion clothing, jewelry, postage stamps, and even a $10,000 solid gold figurine.
Yoshiki composed the official Hello Kitty theme song and dedicated the anthem to his close friend Tsuji Kunihiko, the son of Sanrio founder Shintaro Kunihiko.
