Ten Dates, the Interactive Rom-Com
Just in time for Valentine’s day, Rom-com fans will have a chance to play in an interactive date game called Ten Dates.
From Wales Interactive, Ten Dates is the sequel that to Five Dates that doubles the fun in dating game. Both games are directed and written by Paul Rascid. Similar to the popular Japanese otome games, Ten Dates places the fate of a dating through your choices. In the game, you can play as as a female (Misha) or male (Ryan) Londoner looking for love. Depending on how you handle the date or how well you connect, you may either find love or the next sob story to regale your friends.
The game stars familiar faces acting as your dates as you make your your choices. Some familiar faces to look for would be Rosie Day (played Marie Hawkins in Outlander), Charlie Maher (Conversations with Friends), Meaghan Martin (Until Dawn, Camp Rock), Sagar Radia (Industry), Sam Buchanan (The Power), Kaine Zajaz (The Witcher), Ellie James (I May Destroy You), and Rhiannon Clements (Death On The Nile).
This sounds pretty darn fun to play. Especially if you are addicted to reality TV dating shows with bonkers premises and wished you had more of an omniscience control over the couples. If Love is Blind and 90 Day Fiance within your scope of entertainment, this may be a refreshing beak from watching and more into interacting with the romance. Even if you harbor an aversion to those reality TV shows, this could also be seen as another level in playing Sims. Just with real actors not saying gibberish.
Attraction, dating and love are universal experiences we can all identify with. Our ambition for ‘Ten Dates' was to expand the world of ‘Five Dates' into a richer and more authentic range of dating options. The writing team included LGBTQ+ consultants who we worked with closely across the interactive storylines. We hope the result is a more inclusive experience which encourages people to try a variety of suitors. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved and hope the audience will feel the same way.’ - Paul Raschid, Director/Writer
Ten Dates will launch on February 14 (Valentine’s Day!) for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, iOS and Android devices
