The Babysitters Club (BsC) was MY life. It honestly still is. This mega series written by Ann M. Martin was the foundation of what I imagined a teenager and her friends should be through trials and friendship.
The BsC began as the brainchild of Kristy Thomas to create a one stop connection for baby sitters. The founding members were Kristy, her best friend Mary Ann, Claudia, Stacy, and Dawn. I read these books over and over and over until the covers were worn off. Then I would use cling wrap to stick it back and continue on.
I wished so hard that these girls actually existed. Instead, the became my moral compass in navigating my own trials through school and mainly through friendships. They were deeply rooted into my psyche.
So every version of the BsC gets me super excited. Even if it falls flat, I still just see it as a project from a fellow BsC fan. It just keeps the heart of the group beating strong.
The cast for the Babysitters Club on Netflix. has been announced. It will be 10 episodes., 30 minutes long. There has been no release date .
