NEW FORM

Sometimes with the best of intentions, we still make mistakes that can change the course of a life changing moment. A moment like a first date. Who has not wanted to take back the unfiltered thoughts, the spilled food, dress mishaps, or any other number of face palming moments?

In Press Start, a pilot series debuted by New Form during the Austen Film Festival, one guy had that chance.

Created by Dave Child & Evan Beamer, this pilot is complete 8 bit gamer whimsy at another chance at romance.  What starts off as a bad date with the woman storming off (FYI, describing yourselves as "body bags" can be seen as  red flag to many), the man notices a mysterious embedded two-button control on his form. One button is under "Load" and the second is "Save." With heaps of curiosity overriding any caution, he pushes Load" and the date restarts from the first conversation.

It doesn't take for him to connect that ground-hog like situation and various events that make realize that he is within a game of some sort complete with crushing pots for hidden money and redirecting NPC's (Non-Playable Characters a.k.a background people).

The short ends on a happy note but of course, what happens on level 2?  Who designated the re-start point? It would be pretty hilarious to find that there is indeed a boss level down the road. Please let it be King Koopa...
